Mathematics success


Alex in Year 8 also took part in the UKMT Team Challenge at the end of last term, collaborating with 3 other pupils from KES, against a host of other schools at Lord Wandsworth College. The team achieved an outstanding second place overall and have subsequently been invited to the National Final at Lindley Hall in Westminster, London in June.

Congratulations to Benjamin in Year 3 and Grayson in Year 7 who have qualified for the Dauntsey’s final coming up in June.

Congratulations to Monty (Year 6), Max (Year 6), Isaac (Year 6) and Benjamin (Year 3), who were invited to take part in the Primary Maths Challenge Bonus Round, after achieving sufficiently high scores in the first round. All four boys achieved an excellent result in the Bonus Round and Isaac earned himself a Bronze Award.

Very well done to Alex in Year 8, who sat the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge and achieved a Gold Award; he was subsequently invited to sit the Intermediate Kangaroo Challenge and received an honourable Certificate of Qualification.

Congratulations to Edward in Year 6 and Alex in Year 8 who qualified for the Pangea Maths Final, a national competition with over 8000 pupils taking part in the first round. Edward represented Stroud School at the Final Round at Middlesex University in London on Saturday 4th May; he was a credit to the school, showing a determined and mature attitude throughout the day and demonstrated an true sense of responsibility.
