On Tuesday 6th October Year 2 were all at school bright and early to head off on our school trip to Windsor Castle. All the children were very excited when they had their first glimpse of the castle through the windows. When we arrived we had to go through security to get into the castle, luckily we all made it through! We went to the Moat room and met Jo, our education officer. She was very informative and we learnt so much from her. We then walked around the castle looking at the battlements and arrow slits before heading into the State Rooms. The rooms were magnificent and full of paintings, spectacular royal objects, weapons and we even saw Henry VIII’s suit of armour. After a quick lunch stop we headed back into the castle so that we could see St. George’s Chapel. Isabella and Silas were ‘knighted’ and were lucky enough to sit in the chair that the queen sits in when she attends services – what an honour. We then finished off by having our photo taken with the guard. We all had such a fantastic and memorable day.
