Y2 - Year 2 Walk in the Footsteps of Kings at Portchester Castle.

Year 2 visited Portchester Castle on Tuesday 22 September as part of our Turrets and Tiaras topic. The trip really helped to bring our learning to life. The children had a fantastic time exploring all areas of the castle and taking part in a castle workshop ‘Walking in the footsteps of Kings.’ During the workshop they met Lady Jane, Brother Geoffrey, Sergeant Derek and the cook. They learnt all about the history of Portchester Castle and about the lives of different kings and queens. Most of us also managed to climb to the top of the Keep. It took a while to get to the top via the steep spiral staircase but it was worth it for the view from the top. We were very lucky with the weather as it stayed dry for most of the day.
