Stroud School wins Award for Outside Learning
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Silver Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) Award, a national accreditation, which has been endorsed by the Department for Education.
Our pupils benefit from lots of opportunities to learn outside on a daily basis and a team of teachers, led by Angus Reid, Head of Learning Outside the Classroom, have been working hard towards the national accreditation.
“We have been working towards our Council for Learning Outside the Classroom Award over this academic year and after a visit from the lead assessor, we leapfrogged bronze and went straight to the silver award,” says Angus Reid.
“This verifies all of our ongoing dedication to integrating outdoor learning into our broad and varied curriculum. From the assessment report we will create an action plan to steer us towards the prestigious gold award. Meanwhile, we will continue to take as much learning as we can outside and to keep building on our fantastic Forest and Beach School programmes.”
The CLOtC award now sits alongside Stroud’s Eco Schools Schools Green Flag that we have held for the past six years. Now we have been awarded the national accreditation, we are the only school in Hampshire to be recognised for the quality of its outdoor provision.
