Welcome to Stroud School, Romsey. For those of you visiting for the first time, I hope that the pages offer a glimpse of the Stroud way of life and entice you to look further. To our Old Boys and Girls, former ‘Stroudies’ – welcome back! It is lovely to know you are keeping in touch and rekindling old memories of the School.
Stroud is a truly preparatory school. When you visit us, expect to see pupils who are happy, respectful and honest. These three fundamental attributes ensure that our leavers are fully prepared to move on to the next stage of their education and the start of their young adult lives. As the Prep School for King Edward VI Southampton, our curriculum is designed to achieve the highest academic standard, without compromising the key skills our children need to be successful in the workplace and generally in life. The ‘Stroud Spirit’ curriculum strand encompasses: Courage, Curiosity, Collaboration, Independence, Leadership, and Communication. These skills are actively taught and reflected upon by the pupils.
Our provision for an individual and personalised education, within 22 acres of rural Hampshire, allows for exploration and the development of a love of learning. Crucially, this is carefully balanced across a wider curriculum that provides not only academic rigour and focus, but also the sort of opportunities and experiences that remain with our pupils for the rest of their lives.
Please do take the time to come and see the school for yourself, speak with the staff and the pupils and get a first-hand experience of the Stroud community.
Stroud School is an independent prep school for boy and girls aged 3 -13 in Romsey, Hampshire. Pupils come from southern Wiltshire and Hampshire; including Romsey, Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury and the New Forest.
