At Stroud we cater for pupils with varied medical needs and have medical cover during the school day, during matches at the weekend and during most residential school trips.
We have two matrons here at Stroud School:
Penelope (Pepe) Alexander qualified as a Registered General Nurse at the Middlesex Hospital, London, in 1986. She has worked in hospitals in the UK and abroad and in Primary Health Care. Pepe obtained a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing and has a Certificate in Health Education. For the last 10 years Pepe has worked as a school nurse, initially in a specialist school for children with specific learning difficulties before joining Stroud School in 2008.
Patricia (Trish) Tanner qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1991 from Barnet School of Nursing, London. Since qualifying she quickly specialised in Critical Care Nursing and after over 12 years in various Intensive Care Units, she further specialised into the field of Organ Donation and Transplantation. Trish joined Stroud in 2017 and also continues to work at Salisbury District Hospital ICU.
